Monday, August 31, 2009
Monday: Today we worked on your arpeggios and you guys did an excellent job of using your ear to guide your fingers instead of using your eyes. 5th period you still need to practice reading your notes.

Tuesday: Rhythm flashcards (faster with garage band backing), C and G scale w/ arpeggios, Purple book pages 9-11, and Dance Scenario (measures 27-45). 5th period will play Cripple Creek--you will analyze the dynamics and apply them to your music. 5th period will also get a new fiddle piece that will be played on Friday for a grade----REMEMBER YOU NEED TO GET READY FOR YOUR FIDDLE-OFF : )

Wednesday: open-string warmup, purple book, and sectionals on Dance Scenario/ Cripple Creek---make sure in your sectionals you are writing in your music and practicing the sections for intonation, rhythm, bowings, and articulation. 5th period will get play Cripple Creek as a class for a grade at the end of class.

Thursday: weekly rhythm assessment, C and G scale w/ arpeggios, and Dance Scenario from the beginning to 45 (i really want to work on ensemble techniques such as balance, tone, timbre, dynamics, etc.... but this requires you knowing your notes). 5th period will get new music today and go over the sigh-reading process.

Friday: last day for C and G scale w/ arpeggios pass-off, test on Dance Scenario (25-45) or Fiddle piece (5th period)
